I am 42 and have been in the hospitality management profession for the last 7+ years and am looking to make a career change. Do you need a special education to take one of those medical coding/transcription jobs? Can anyone else make suggestions at some areas I could look at? Something with 20+ years future left in it?

I am in the field and if you don't have a degree, you can only go so far.
You can get a certificate in 12months or a assoc. in 24 months.
Make sure the program is accredited through AHIMA.
Reply:Both medical coding and transcription are jobs with a future, although they are entirely different jobs and shouldn't be lumped together as one.
Reply:The "work from home" medical transcription jobs are a joke. There are not many Dr's who will hire someone to do the work; most Dr's are part of large medical groups who outsource the medical transcription %26amp; coding/billing to large centralized companies that do it for 100's of different offices.
It's not a long term job right now, not for someone who wants to work for the next 20 years before retirement. Remember, your social security payments will be based on your last 20 years of income, so you don't really want it to be crappy %26amp; spotty.
Reply:Of course it's a good job. You'll always have a job as long as people get sick!...grin. Seriously though, you do need to take a course in coding/billing in order to be hired. You can also look into radiography. It's a 2 year time investment, but with new technologies, the field is always improving!
Reply:Well, you're always going to need to have claims coded. This seems like one of those areas where demand will soon be outstripped by supply, though.

Is there a way to view a sliced website without actually coding it?
I have already designed all of the images myself using Adobe Photoshop. Now is there a software or program or method I can use to put all of the images together and see what it looks like without actually coding the whole site?

Yeah, just create a new document in Photoshop and make sure the canvas size is the size of the web page you're building. Then simply copy and paste your images, moving them about as you ant to them to appear in the web page. Then save the doc using the Save for Web options

I have a diploma as well as national certification as a Medical Coding and Billiing Specialist, and my current employer would like me to start teaching the class, but i don't know how to go about getting my classes opened to the public. We want to rent the space, but need to know how to get help with the purchasing of the books and material needed for the class. And,also how to get the class licensed for everything to be legit and recognized as a learning facility, for those who need assistant such as finacial aid, can receive it?

A nice fish to try?
I want to try a new fish from the fishmongers. I'm bored of salmon, cod, haddock, trout etc. What is a good fish to eat and a nice simple way to cook it? (fish available in Scotland)

Monk fish, it's more meaty than other fish, much cheaper and a slightly stronger taste. Cook as you would any white fish. It needs a sauce really, parsley or cheddar chees, new spuds, cauli and a bit of carrot. Smoked mackerel from Swankie's, Arbroath, pre vacuum packed, at your supermarket, lovely with a bit of salad and of course, here in Carnoustie, an Arbroath Smokie! Great as a pate', really tasty starter on toast or oatcakes with cherry toms and a bit of rocket, just mix it on down with a bit of mayo and garlic. Marvelous.

the code your getting on it wont cause it to blow out black smoke,that's the engine over loading on gas is whats causing that too happen,id have it re-scanned and see if they can get any more codes from it,something is causing it to run rich on gas,and that could be an 0-2 sensor or something causing that too happen,there are too many things to mention that will cause that too happen,by having it scanned though it may tell you whats causing that too happen,good luck with it.

can i take the cylinder somewhere (peugeot?) and get the correct key from them, or do I need to buy a new cylinder and key together, and will this affect my alarm/immobiliser at all? I think the lock's coded will that make a difference?

GM / Corvette Interior 'skin' blemish. How to fix?
On my 2004 Corvette, the "skin" that protects the dash and console have rubbed off in 3 places. The "skin" appears to be either a factory install or an aftermarket - I just can't tell. But it does make it look nice and smooth, so I'm thinking it may be original equipment. So, where I have these small holes or blemishes in this skin, is there anything I can put on it to match and cover it up? I'm thinking a factory color coded rubber skin in a can spray, but maybe it's way more complicated than that. Anyone know what I'm talking about and could provide a solution or two? How about a LINK to the product, too? Thanks very much.

I believe what your talking about is the textured coating . It looks a lot like skin when it begins to peel after a sunburn. I am not aware of any fixes for this. I only have resolved this issue by replacing affected components.
GM / Corvette Interior 'skin' blemish. How to fix?
I believe what your talking about is the textured coating . It looks a lot like skin when it begins to peel after a sunburn. I am not aware of any fixes for this. I only have resolved this issue by replacing affected components.
Why is the DVD playing black and white?
I got a medical DVD with workbook that is compulsary for uni - it shows us how to do basic procedures like blood pressure or whatever.
All my other DVDs play in full colour normally but this one is playing black and white. the book says it should be colour coded for us to move between different topics.
so it shud be colour.
i dont know what to do its hard to examine things like temperature charts that are colour coded and understand what they are talking about if its black and white i cant see the colours

Reply:It all depends on what kind of war you like. If you like fantasy like games with Player vs Player I'd suggest Halo 3. Call of Duty 4 is a really good modern warfare game. I love it, it has good graphics and good teamwork. Gears of War is the most violent game i've seen. You get guns with chainsaws on them and you can rip alien freaks apart. The maps are dark and you have to constantly pay attention. It's not one of those games you can run through. All 3 have really good player vs player and have unique features that make them great. Take your pick

Would cod liver oil really help or would I not see much of an improvement?
I need something that will work pretty quickly as he is itchy. It definatley isnt fleas as he is reguarly deflea'd with Frontline drops.

My eldest Golden had dry itchy skin and the breeder recommended evening primrose oil capsules (not doggie one's - I use cheapy 500mg ones from Savers or Wilkinsons). She also recommended low fat yoghurt and/or small chunks of cheese.
Both my Goldens have this regularly and don't suffer from dry skin anymore!
So there must be some truth in it!!!
Reply:Purina do a special food for dogs with sensitivities but I cannot remember what it is called. I think it is one of the Bakers range. We used this for our dogs when one seemed to be sensitive to anything and everything and it really did help. Also, for supplements our breeder recommended cod liver oil but what we found was even better was the capsule that combined cod liver oil with evening primrose oil. The great thing with this is that both the dogs and I can take it!!

Other thing maybe a reaction to the Frontline (I had this with one dog who lost hair and became itchy). Get your vet to check your dog out soon to save the poor animal more agony

Merrick (brand) is a very good dog food.There are many premeium brands.Go to the local pet supply store, they can help you.You can add a bit of canola oil to his food.Wash him in an oatmeal based shampoo.Don't shampoo him alot this can dry skin out.Good Luck

If your dog begins to bite specific areas of his body, the area will become sore and sometimes bleed. Over the years i've tried every "solution" on the market ranging from white cider vineger to special diets on my dog, The only one iv found to work (apart from steriods from the vet) is shampoo therapy using Derma pet http://www.dermapet.com/index.html

You should have the dog checked by the vet to see if there is an underlying problem causing the dry skin.
I use oil from cooking I put any drained oil in a jar and keep it in teh freezer. I give my dog a 1/2 teaspoon in her food evry other day. it does help my dog
Reply:my three yr old choc lad had bad dry skin and is prone to ear infectins, my vet said its the breed. i fed her lamb and rice dry food for a awhile and she doesnt suffer with it any more. also try otedex skin cream for dogs and cats. clears em up quick.
Reply:Your dog is lacking in his diet. His coat is saying he needs Omega 3 fish oil. I would suggest that you change your dog over to a homemade food diet, where his body will be getting everything that he needs, which is not possible with a commercail dog food, as none of them are any good. You will not only see a difference in your dog coat, but a difference in the entire dog.

Reply:My baby seemed to have dry skin and dandruff when I adopted him. I bathe him every two weeks with a moisturizing oatmeal shampoo- and the dandruff and itchiness are gone.
Reply:My belgian shepherd had a similar problem. My vet recommended the simplest short-term remedy... when bathing your dog, use a shampoo AND a moisturising conditioner, for his coat!
Cod liver oil will help him in the long-run and is an excellent idea, for his skin and coat, but the conditioner will start to help his skin, right away, to feel less dry and itchy.
NB: you also should not bathe your dog more than once every other week - as bathing him too frequently strips the natural oils, from his coat - drying out his skin.
Reply:How often is regularly when you say you de-flea him with the drops? This could be irritating his skin. Cod liver oil will help, try putting a small capsule in his food every day, or mix some in with his food. What kind of food do you feed him? If it contains CORN or MAIZE (same thing) that can cause allergic reactions in dogs. My Doberman was on supposedly the best food, "Royal Canin" when we first got him and he had dandruff, I read the ingredients and they were no better than an average dog food. "Science diets" and lots of foods reccomended by vets are not good quality. I changed my dogs to a wholistic food, Burns wholistic food and the Dobermans dandruff went straight away. I recommend Burns, its really good, either that or find another wholistic food that uses all human grade ingredients. You could take him off dog food altogether (probably the best option if you feed him a balanced diet) and feed him small pieces of raw carrot, raw meat, raw chicken, etc.
The food really does make a huge difference, change his food.

Reply:i would definately give the vitamin supplements a go but it wont be a quick fix most things for itchy skin can take a few days even a week to sort out and with a supplement u cant go wrong, there is alos shampoo and creams you can buy from pet stores made specifically for this problem which will cool the itching down.

Merrick (brand) is a very good dog food.There are many premeium brands.Go to the local pet supply store, they can help you.You can add a bit of canola oil to his food.Wash him in an oatmeal based shampoo.Don't shampoo him alot this can dry skin out.Good Luck

Reply:Your dog is lacking in his diet. His coat is saying he needs Omega 3 fish oil. I would suggest that you change your dog over to a homemade food diet, where his body will be getting everything that he needs, which is not possible with a commercail dog food, as none of them are any good. You will not only see a difference in your dog coat, but a difference in the entire dog.

Cod liver oil will help him in the long-run and is an excellent idea, for his skin and coat, but the conditioner will start to help his skin, right away, to feel less dry and itchy.
NB: you also should not bathe your dog more than once every other week - as bathing him too frequently strips the natural oils, from his coat - drying out his skin.
Reply:How often is regularly when you say you de-flea him with the drops? This could be irritating his skin. Cod liver oil will help, try putting a small capsule in his food every day, or mix some in with his food. What kind of food do you feed him? If it contains CORN or MAIZE (same thing) that can cause allergic reactions in dogs. My Doberman was on supposedly the best food, "Royal Canin" when we first got him and he had dandruff, I read the ingredients and they were no better than an average dog food. "Science diets" and lots of foods reccomended by vets are not good quality. I changed my dogs to a wholistic food, Burns wholistic food and the Dobermans dandruff went straight away. I recommend Burns, its really good, either that or find another wholistic food that uses all human grade ingredients. You could take him off dog food altogether (probably the best option if you feed him a balanced diet) and feed him small pieces of raw carrot, raw meat, raw chicken, etc.
The food really does make a huge difference, change his food.

How do I get an executable out of my basic C# program in Visual Studio?
I'm a rookie at Visual Studio/.NET. I just coded my very first 'Hello World' C# program. It works fine within Visual Studio when I try to run it. I've tried build. I want my program to be a standalone .exe (executable) that I can run from a dos prompt. It's just a simple console application. My parents are have almost absolute control of me, what do i do?
i'm a sophomore in highschool, and i got decent grades in freshman year, mostly B's a few B-'s, a few A's and ONE C+! they think that that was terrible and have now started to ride me and put pressure on me. the problem is that my school uses "net classrom" which allows parents to check updated grades AT ALL TIMES, meaning that if i turn homework in, my dad could know about it before me. he has no life. he made a color coded binder, and keeps an up to date log of what i'm getting. he works on it every night, he knows what i get on everything, and he know's what assignments i have, and he's really rubbing it in. what do i do? i cant work in this environment, im really laid back!

I am parent of a 15 yr old, an I know that if I did this to her she would freak right out. That is way to much pressure on a kid. Not everyone works that same why. They need to back up and give you a break here. That is if you are really trying your best to do all of your work, Do you feel that you could improve? Where do you do your homework at, in your bedroom? Try sitting out with your dad, and have him go over things with you as you do them. Maybe if he was more apart of your study habits he would no push so much...Talk to him about what you are learning about and ask for his input...ask him about what high school was for him. My friend's dealing with the same sort of pressure. Her parents are constantly checking her grades and if her GPA drops below a 4.0 she gets grounded until she brings it back up, she's already skipped a year and is in advanced classes. The unfortunate thing is, if you can't convince your parents to leave you alone, there's no alternative. They're in control of you and even if they're screwing up your life and work ethic, if they aren't hurting you, it's legal.

My friend's dealing with the same sort of pressure. Her parents are constantly checking her grades and if her GPA drops below a 4.0 she gets grounded until she brings it back up, she's already skipped a year and is in advanced classes. The unfortunate thing is, if you can't convince your parents to leave you alone, there's no alternative. They're in control of you and even if they're screwing up your life and work ethic, if they aren't hurting you, it's legal.

Where, in your opinion, is the best Fish and Chip shop you have ever been to? Why are they so good?
For me I like Stafford Street when I am in Norwich and Mary Janes when I am at Cromer which is a place by the sea. They usually have ques out the door, Stafford street just does lovely chips which are big and tasty and not greasy and they are not frozen before use, they are fresh. The battered sausages are really meaty and crispy and you can get a huge piece of cod to go with them.
Mary Janes are also pretty spectacular.My family like them so much we never go anywhere else in the area and Monroes which is just like 50 metres away has far less customers.

Php coding question?
okay. I've searched, and I must be stupid...but maybe this will clear things up. I'm looking for a way to make a automated website where users enter information on a registration page. When they hit submit, a new page is created based on the information provided by the user, it sends the user an email, letting them know that their page is posted, it sends me an email, letting me know that they signed up, and their information is put into a searchable database, where other people can search the database from my site. On the results page, I want it to be a list of the people, and when you click the name, it takes you to the page that was automatically generated by the info they provided earlier. Kinda like a profile service. I know it sounds complex, but I know it's also possible. I'm looking for an explanation, not a link to a site with opensource scripts. My knowledge of php and mysql are minimal, and I can't seem to figure out how make all of these features work. Any help?

You misunderstand the use of PHP. The beauty of php is that you do not create new pages for each user and save them individually. PHP creates the webpage based on the criteria submitted. So you will want to create a database that has fields defined with the user information in each record. You use a html form for users to generate their information and send the form data to a php script that will enter the information into the database. Then you use various PHP scripts to tailor the information used to build the display pages. While using the open source scripts to actually build the pages can get very complicated, use them to understand how a particular script accomplishes a task, the use the same methodology for your own scripts. If PHP and mysql are too intimidating or you are in a hurry, then look for a complete open source package to accomplish what you need. wordpress for bloggers and phpbb for forums are examples of complete code packages that have been built to create full blown applications without the need to understand any php coding.
You will get good answers to handling individual issues here, but trying to get an full blown explanation of the entire process in a single answer is not too likely here.

okay i get the bytes about computers and how it is that they are stored. They each represent certain numbers. i get that but how does the computer decode them. Is it as text that tells it what type of file it is and its components or what.? im very confused about this. and how do they store them onto the hard drive? is it just like they do in cd's? then how do they erase or transfer them from one place to another. like to folders and stuff. how to folders "look" like in a hard drive meaning on the actual drive. i know that on cd's the data is in bumps that the laser picks up and deciphers but i dont really know about this

Yes, there are tons. COBOL is an incredably robust language that creates long lasting programs so companies that used them back in the 60s and 70s and such still use them today. I'm in college now learning COBOL and have had 3 professors work with the language throughout their careers who say that COBOL isn't going anywhere. If you can learn COBOL than you're guaranteed a job (another thing my profs told me).
People think it's not used any more so they don't bother learning it so the few who do know it are set.

I wanted to make a box with the scroll bar on it..I don't know if you know what I am talking about but its like having a regular page with a scroll bar but instead of the whole page, just a small box in the center if you know what I mean..How do I create the code for that...thanks

Does anyone want my new recipe-Kelli’s Baked Cod in Zesty Tomato Sauce?
Kelli’s Baked Cod in Zesty Tomato Sauce
Serves 4 Preheat oven 400 degrees.
4 – 6 oz. filets of Cod
6 cups Organic Tomato Soup
6 medium leaves of fresh Basil chopped or
1 TBSP dried Basil
2 to 6 tsp. Crushed Red Pepper (to taste for your family)
4 to 8 TBSP Olive Oil
4 cloves of Garlic
1 cup yellow Onion sliced thin and long
1 cup Red Bell Pepper sliced thin and long
Sea Salt and Pepper
Pour Organic Tomato Soup into a saucepan. Add Basil, Crushed Red Pepper and up to 4 TBSP Olive Oil. Heat, but do not boil. Set aside. Take 4 oval individual baking dishes. Cut garlic cloves in half. Place two halves in the bottom of each baking dish. Divide the Tomato Soup mixture and pour into each baking dish.
Thoroughly Salt and Pepper the Cod fillets and place in the center of each baking dish. Cover the Cod with a garnish of Onion and Red Bell Pepper strips. Drizzle Olive Oil over the Cod fillets. Bake for 20 min. Broil for 3 min. Enjoy!

You see i wanna know if I can import an Australian Pokemon Diamond and be able to migrate with my european pokemon GBA games via Pal Park.

The games tend to be region free (nothing to do with PAL, NTSC etc) As for this game, well I purchased an english one from the US and they use NTSC, not what the UK use, and it works fine for me. Absolutely perfect!
So you will have no problem in getting this to work for your DS!

There are many different dishes you can make with bacala, and I won't confuse you with yet another recipe that you won't use. When your ready google "salt cod recipes".
The most important bit of information I can give you is not the recipe, but how to prepare it for the dish you'll make. Bacala, or bacalo, or salt cod, or stuk fish must be soaked for a least 24 hours in cold water, with 2 or 3 water changes during that time. My grandmother simmered the fish in water, or milk, and sometimes buttermilk, for an hour or so before she made her dish. The important thing with bacala is to get the salt out of it, and after that peel off the little patches skin that may or may not be on the fish. Not only does the soaking process get rid of the salt, but it also takes away the concentrated fishy taste from drying (that's why grandma sometimes used buttermilk.)
Bacala is delicious, but unfortunately there are few people who remember how to prepare this fish properly.

When you come to a page on the web click "VIEW" at the top of your browser and click on "SOURCE". If you are using Internet Explorer browser the HTML source code will open up in Windows Notepad. In Notepad click on "FILE/SAVE AS" to save the page's source code to your hard drive. In Internet Explorer click on "FILE/OPEN" to open the source code in the browser. Go back to notepad and remove some of the code and click "SAVE". Then in Internet Explorer hold down the "SHIFT" key and click on the "REFRESH" button on the browser's toolbar to see what effect the removed source code had on the page. You will learn a hundred times faster this way.
Something to think about later is.......After you have gotten a little experience with HTML try DOCTYPE, XHTML, and CSS. Then try to validate your pages. Validating checks your source code for coding errors. validating will not work unless you are using the correct doctype and the correct document encoding. Validating is not something a newcomer should bother with. Being new you will make lots of mistakes and won't know how to fix them yet. http://validator.w3.org/
Many libraries world-wide have books related to the Internet, Web and computers in general. They also have CDs and DVDs. Go to your local public library and get the username and password for http://www.firstsearch.org/ You have to get them at your library because that is where you will pick up and return the books after reading them. You can look up the book yourself but they will have to order it for you. Sometimes this can take awhile if the book is checked out by someone else. After reading the books and making copies of certain pages with a photo copier simply return it to them.
By using Firstsearch you can search for any book in the world. Some libraries might charge a small fee but most are free. Even if they charge a fee it will be less than the cost of the book or other item you are ordering. Every Web Design book I have read was acquired in this fashion. :)

The first answer is partially correct in that radix (or number base) is an output-time representation feature, however, all numeric values are stored internally in *binary* form (not hexadecimal.)

currently programming in c++ for a uni module, need to convert the integer 01 into a word, i.e. 01 = january, 02 = feb...etc..
