Does anybody do medical billing and coding and do I need to spend 8 months going to school for it?

I do medical billing and coding. If you have previous medical office experience and you know Anatomy and Physiology, and are experienced with medical insurance policys and contracts, Medicare guidelines and are very familiar with surgical and diagnostic procedures as well as illnesses and diseases...then sure...you dont need to go to school.

Does anybody do medical billing and coding and do I need to spend 8 months going to school for it?
No way , it's a rip off ! it's takes 2 hour taining to learn billing and a book for codes ! You need someone to hire you and train you . It's mad easy! All you need is a doctor's notes , codes are actualy already there , in the report . School for billing is a joke!
Reply:I used to do some but I owned the company. I wouldn't go to school. Go to monster.com or your local newspaper. Work for someone willing to train. It will pay a little less but you'll learn. Then you can do your own thing.

Medical billing is so easy. The software does everything.
