I'm a single mother who wants to have a job that can be done during school hours. Which of these would you suggest doing and why? I would be attending a community college for the first 4 and a for-profit school for the last.
Medical Office Billing and Coding certificate
Hospital Billing and Coding certificate
Medical Records certificate
Medical Office Administration certificate
Phlebotomy
I'm a single parent with a high school education. In your opinion, which certificate would be best to earn
Actually any of them would be great since the baby boomers are getting older and will need more healthcare. It all depends on how hard do you want to work! I'd see if I could job shadow each one-contact the local employment office and see if they can help you in that area, or even contact the different places yourself and see if they will let you job shadow for a couple of hours. Then you could ask questions like, why do you like this job, how much education did it take, on a hectic days what's it like, on a slow day what's it like, etc.
Reply:You should just go for your MA (medical assistant) the course is during school hours and is only 6 months and pays good with good benefits. OR you could make about 15,000-20,000 more a year and get your LPN its about 13 months mon-fri 8-4. Trust me, it will be worth it! with a family money is something you have to think about for not only your future but your childrens future as well. LPN's make so much more money then every single job you have listed above! Best of luck to you!!
Reply:I'd go with Medical Records certificate, as being that most of the billing ones, would have you be deal with people saying they need to pay this much, which at times you may find some people not being so friendly towards you.
Reply:Hospital billing and coding are more in demand than the others.
Reply:get a medical assisting degree. youll be able to work in any medical office! :)
hope this helped, and good luck!
Reply:i suggest doing a computing course and u can start from cert 1 n u can earn up 2 heaps of money per year,
