(if so, then is it possible to completely erase the part of our genetic coding which tells us that we can get sick of a certain illness?)
Is it possible that the reason why we get sick of certain illnesses is that our genetic coding tells us so?
Gene's come in pairs and genetic coding can make us more susptable to one disease but make us immune to another. The best example is the genes for sickle cell anemia it comes paired with an immunity to malaria. This is how 'defective' genes live on. The trouble with erasing the coding for sickle cell anemia would mean that more people will possibly get malaria.
So while it is possible to pinpoint the genes it is not always a good idea.
Reply:yes. some illnesses are highly genetic. however your genetic predisposition wont be triggered if you maintain a healthy lifestyle. :)
