Where, in your opinion, is the best Fish and Chip shop you have ever been to? Why are they so good?

For me I like Stafford Street when I am in Norwich and Mary Janes when I am at Cromer which is a place by the sea. They usually have ques out the door, Stafford street just does lovely chips which are big and tasty and not greasy and they are not frozen before use, they are fresh. The battered sausages are really meaty and crispy and you can get a huge piece of cod to go with them.

Mary Janes are also pretty spectacular. My family like them so much we never go anywhere else in the area and Monroes which is just like 50 metres away has far less customers.

Burdocks Fish and chips in Dublin I can't explain the taste of these it just wonderful and the portions are amazing you keep eating and eating even though you feel like you are going to burst, if you are ever in Dublin go and have a taste and look at all the famous names on the wall that have bought some fish %26amp; chips, they are famous for the taste and have been there years and years

I've never tasted fish and chips like this anywhere else and now I really want a fish supper so much.
Reply:Old Bag O Nails Pub. There are several in central Ohio. I hear they are quite authentic in taste. I don't eat meat, including fish, so I'm going off here-say. Report It

Reply:The Horsebrass Pub in Portland Oregon... Amazing.

Its like the fish is super fresh and the grease is brand new. It is crisp, tasty, and not overly greasy.

Also try the bangers and bring your dart throwin' skills
Reply:I like Mill Road Chippie in Liverpool because their service is great, and the food is 10/10
Reply:In London, I really like Geales (although, strickly speaking, they're not really a chippie) in Notting Hill. Rock, Plaice %26amp; Sole and the Seashell are overrated.

Best I've had anywhere in the world is Graveleys in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. Outstanding fish, great service and the prices aren't ridiculous.
Reply:In Prince Rupert, BC. They have Fish %26amp; Chips restaurants along the shoreline and by the harbor. They are so good because everything is fresh from the ocean!!
Reply:In Seahouses, I can't remember the name of the restaurant but it was down at the sea front, was family owned %26amp; they had their own fishing boats.

Went in for a Fish tea %26amp; the fish was great with the best batter I've tasted.

I'm a Jock so you know it must be good if I'm putting forward one in England
Reply:Bispham kitchen, near the top of Red Bank rd. Bispham,

just outside Blackpool, they make their own steak and kidney puddings, they are so big that some people call them "babies heads",they are really good, their chips are excellent, always freshly cooked, they also make all their own pies, they are good too
Reply:The best fish %26amp; chip shop is on Buxton Road in Macclesfield. They cook the fish when you ask for it. You have to wait a bit longer but it is worth it the fish tastes fresh and the batter is really crispy. They also have really fat chunky golden chips.
Reply:Morro Bay Marina in Calif. USA are very good.
Reply:I like the Golden Fish in dagenham, Essex, UK, there is a queue outside for the fish and chips from there, if people are willing to queue then you know it's good! Good quality fish, light and crispy batter with just the right amount of greasiness to it, perfect.
Reply:Yorkshire is meant to be best but Harry Ramsdens was disappointing.Thje Mermaid in Hastings is supposed to be the absolute best, but we prefer the Lifeboat just down the road from there. All the chip shops have excellent fish in Hastings so you are spoiled for choice.
Reply:I love the fish and chip shops in Yorkshire....I don't know why but they just taste better than the ones down south.
Reply:My best one is in Leigh on Sea,Mitchels. They have fresh fish cooked in a crispy batter, and chips to die for!
Reply:Brett's fish and chips in Headingley, Leeds are the best. It's because they use proper dripping in the fryers.
Reply:harry ramsdens fresh local fish and not to greasey chips quite expensive but you can print a b.o.g.o.f voucher off the internet (people obviously dont know this as ive seen them advertised on ebay!!!)
